The Cambria (Camberwell)
Background
Closed for over four years, The Cambria was left without heating or power, causing severe deterioration. Extensive structural and remedial work was required before refurbishment could begin.
Scope of Works
- Building & Structure: Roof overhaul, window repairs, structural timber replacement, and layout improvements.
- Core Infrastructure: Relocated toilets, redesigned cellar, installed double dumbwaiter, and built a new commercial kitchen.
- Extensions & Functional Spaces: New indoor-outdoor extension, dedicated function room, and bar refurbishment.
- Private Accommodation: Full renovation of staff living spaces with updated services and finishes.
Outcome
The Cambria was transformed into a vibrant pub with:
- A fully functional bar and commercial kitchen
- An adaptable function room
- A new indoor/outdoor extension
- Modernized private accommodation
The project was completed on time, within budget, and successfully revitalized a long-vacant heritage property.
